Sarah Booker

Sarah Booker - Physiotherapist in Medway Sittingborne and KentSarah is a Chartered Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (PH68803). She founded ErgonomicFix in 2014 following establishing Physiotherapy2Fit and increasingly treating patients with pain resulting from poor ergonomics at work. In 2022, she sold Physiotherapy2fit to concentrate her time on the development of ErgonomicFix.

Her vision to provide a holistic approach to pain has led to her interest in ergonomics and biomechanics. Whilst working within various fields of physiotherapy she has developed her skills in assessing posture and biomechanics whilst relating this to an individual’s pain.

After completing her BSc (hons) in Physiotherapy in 2004 from the University of Hertfordshire, Sarah moved North to Derby. She worked in the NHS in a large teaching hospital, completing rotations in Paediatrics, Cardiorespiratory, Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal Outpatients and Neurology before beginning to specialise in Musculoskeletal Outpatients.

Complementing her NHS service, Sarah also worked part time for Derby County Ladies Football Club. Initially she provided treatment for the academy teams, working her way up to Senior Club Physio. This involved providing care for the first team and training club coaches to provide an injury prevention programme. She also performed biomechanic analyses of players’ technique and worked with coaching staff to develop a players individual form.

On moving to Kent Sarah was employed as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Musculoskeletal Outpatients at Medway Hospital. She continued in this role treating complex outpatients and supporting more junior staff members for 3 years prior to founding Physiotherapy2Fit.

Sarah has maintained a keen interest in Ergonomics, Biomechanics and posture anaylsis but is also trained in Acupuncture, Orthopaedic Physiotherapy, Massage, Manual Therapy and Manipulation and Pilates. This allows her to perform unique ergonomic assessments which focus on an employee’s pain and their individual job demands. As well as full work space assessments she is able to provide management advice for the chronic nature of any pain problems. She is also trained in performing pregnancy risk assessments and desk space assessments and delivers mandatory training for moving and handling in the work place.

Sarah is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists, Physio First, the Acupuncture Association for Physiotherapists and The Australian Physiotherapist and Pilates Institute and The British Medical Acupuncture Society.
